It takes hardened Kosh steel that is re-molten at high temperatures and exposed to the extremely corrosive firemoss while it is still liquid.
Afterwards, the steel is cast into a stony mould and heated up until it is cherry-red again. At a specified temperature of 731 degrees Centigrade the steel quickly is quenched in cold water and then tempered at 342 degrees Centigrade for thirty minutes.
